Default NY area Paint/Body Work Question Reccomendations

'04 Allroad/Cobalt Blue. Due to rock damage, I had the hood repaired and repainted in May 2006 by Zumbach (yeah, I know). It looked good until last weekend when it sat for two days under a tree and two more until I could clean it. Upon return from the vacation I immediately cleaned the sap off but the repainted hood suffered and has etch marks from the sap. Tried cleaner/wax but it's still quite visible from the side. My concern is that this did not happen to the fenders or any other painted surfaces except the repainted hood and that the hood finish will deteriorate quicker than the rest of the car.
Is this an indication that the repair/paint was not done right?
Is this to be expected on a repainted (or hood) surface after four days under a tree?
Why is this paint so DELICATE?
Any suggestions including a good body shop are appreciated.

Thanks.

Default Tree sap damages even Original paint quite easily.

I own a repair shop In Bayside NY. several neighborhood dealerships often send me brand new cars with tree sap paint damage. Often times you can wet sand and polish out the damage, Other times we have to completely repaint the affected panel. Usually the damage occurs to flat surfaces on the Hood, roof, and the trunklid. Goodluck with the repairs.
