that's why i bought a northface w/ 2liners you can remove, i never board with the inner <ed
liner anyways, the shell keeps me perfectly warm! and ppl keep asking me on the skii lift "whys a spider on your back?" lol
fwiw i like the "rissognol" brand, very good clothing for cold weather

Skip. Get yourself a snowboard jacket....
I know tons of skiers that wear snowboard outerwear because they think it's more stylish (I agree), and it's more suitable for wearing off the slopes.

I was really lucky with my jacket...
got it post-ski season out in Utah. We went for a week in April a few years back. The weather was in the 50s! It was great though...just wearing a shell to ski. We went to a few local ski shops and they were having these outrageous end-of-season sales. 40-50% off. I got my North Face for only $250 and it's a nice one with the zip-in fleece liner. It keeps me nice and warm whenever the weather dips below 40 degrees.

My previous jacket was the same...
...with the zip in liner. Had it a few years, and "retired" it (to the NY Cares Coat drive) last year when I got the new parka coat.
Didn't realize I would miss having the zip out liner so much.
