Considering a new in-dash double-din dvd player
This is what I currently have:
<img src="http://images18.fotki.com/v340/photos/1/194554/3930374/a421-vi.jpg">
For aesthetics (and an overall better unit), I'm considering this:
<img src="http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2006/500/h500iVAW200-f_.jpeg">
It retails for $999... Anyone have a recommendation of a place to get a good deal on stereo equipment and perfect installs? Call me a ricer,,, but I'm also considering a few red LED's under the dash and under the seats to give the car a nice red glow on the interior to match the standard interior lighting...

I had that deck. Is that the clarion 925????
Personally, I'm not a fan of the Alpine unit, I've got a few suggestions for you. If you have the option for a double din. You should take it!
I know a guy in Bellevue you should contact for installs. In fact, I'll be going out there friday for a business call, I can introduce you. He says he's got a brand new RS4 in the shop right now getting some serious work done. I'll be dropping off a Beltronics Rx75plus to integrate in. Shoot me an email tomorrow, and I'll tell you where it's at. This guy is GOOD.

I would keep the clarion
and spend the money on other mods
If you really wanna do it, I would recommend soundsational in Eugene, OR. They did my car.

I'd recommend talking to Avincar
The guys at Avincar really know their stuff. Total audiophiles. And they know Audi's in and out (they both own Audi's)... check out the Audio forum here on AW and you'll see he's the one everyone asks questions of. I'm gonna have them do my car once I settle everything with insurance.
They're located in NW Portland, near the Pearl.<ul><li><a href="http://avincar.com">http://avincar.com</a</li></ul>

I really want an ipod feature that displays the text on the screen.. plus for aesthetics
I think a double din would look better. I'm getting an AWE boost gauge in the vent and the single din blocks that partially with the Clarion.
