Default Escort or V1?

What's the consensus around here? And where can we buy either one local?

TIA

Default The V1 is a good piece, just very spendy for what it is.

Do research. The escort is a great piece, especially for the price.

Are you looking for just a windshield mount one, or do you want to get some laser protection?

I picked up the Beltronics Pro RX75plus

here's the link to the install done

I use Escort. I've got the Passport 8500 and am very happy with it.

I probably won't go your route so it'll be a winshield mount.

My advice: Save the $$$ and get the Escort. Same thing, minus the arrows (big deal).

Default I had both for a long time (one in each car) and the V1 was far superior

I could pick up the same radar signal at least a block ahead with the V1. I had a little "radar speed checker" thing at the bottom of my road for a month. The V1 picked it up way ahead of the 8500.

Default I compared my old 8500 to Marx' V1 on a radar point in Kirkland.

the 8500 alerted me at least 1/4 mile before the V1. it was a curving road.

my only experience comparing the two, though the V1 is known to have better rear K and Ka detection.

mr. valentine used to work for escort til they canned him. the two leading windshield mount units now are the Escort 9500 & BEL STi driver. if you want info on either, let me know. they are both cool for their own reasons.

again, do your research so you don't waste $500. If you'd like I'll bring an STi driver to the feierabend this week.
