Default Had dinner at the new Pearl restaurant in downtown Bellevue last night - Skip

They have what looks like a great menu, but I have to say, they just didn't deliver. The prices are at the high end and for a restaurant that claims to be "a new high-water mark for hospitality in Bellevue" they set expectations pretty high.

Sure, they just opened, but all of our table's dishes were drowning in sauces and my scallops were overcooked and sat on a bed of brown rice that could have come from pf changs. Not the end of the world, but I just expected a lot better. As one of the others at the table said, Pearl seems to be a restaurant built on a business plan, not a chef. Seastar is still my pick for high-end NW food in Bellevue.

Bill Gates was there last night too, wonder what he thought of the place...<ul><li><a href="http://www.pearlbellevue.com/">Pearl</a></li></ul>

Default Bis on Main is next in the line-up

We've been working a lot of late hours lately, so we've been doing a number of working dinners. Ruth's Chris has been the go to, but we've mixed it up a little lately with Seastar and Joey's last week, Pearl last night and maybe Bis on Main tomorrow or next week.

We actually did an election night celebration at 0/8. First time I'd been there, pretty good stuff. We mostly stuck to drinks and appitizers but everything was great. I'll have to get back there for a proper dinner.
