Default New S4 Owner With Questions About Tint and Radar Detector

I just picked up my new 2005 S4 (Dolphin Gray/Black) yesterday and really thrilled with it. Can anyone give me advice on window tinting and a hard wired radar detector (something well hidden)? I need to get educated on both, and also need some good vendors/installers in Seattle metro/Eastside (I live in Bellevue). Any help is much appreciated.

Default llumar tint from accutint in bellevue

if you don't have homelink, just run the wire from the fuse box (rearview mirror fuse)

if you have homelink then

and this is how I hardwired my v1

Default Accutint!!! Tell them Joe sent you for the good deal. The best hardwired & conceled radar/laser

detector is the Passport SRX available only @ Porsche dealerships or you can piece it together with the Pasport 8500 and SR7. The 8500 is the radar/laser detector & the SR7 is the Laser Jammer. These 2 units combined are the best you can get. I have this set up in my car and it is totally conceled except for the warning LED light in my gauge cluster. All the sensor are mounted in the grill and the Brain/ECU is behind the dash with a mute button with in easy reach.

I had all the install work done @ Mag Hifi. If you want to check it out let me know.

Default Joe, thanks for the info. Did you purchase the radar equipment at

Magnolia or the Porsche dealer? I would imagine Porsche would charge a premium price? I looked at your pictures. Great stuff!

Default Everett Mag Hifi. I have friend that works up there. The SRX...

runs about $1500 on the Escort website. I have seen them online for 1/2 that.

Default Anyone know about 'V1' Radar Detector?

I see several people touting the "V1" hard wired radar detector in other forums. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

it rules, get one. Just realize that most State troupers in the greater seattle area use Laser
