Default Well, the economic conditions axe got me. Lost my job. Any help would be appreciated

First time being laid-off, so still trying to come to grips with it as it was a bit of a surprise. Thought my job was pretty secure.

Would really appreciate any suggestions you guys have to get back on my feet.

I was in management consulting, mostly working with high tech and media companies on growth and market entry strategies, industry and competitive analysis and product strategy. I also did a fair amount of project management over the years.

I'm going to look at the big local companies (Microsoft, Amazon etc.) as well as some of the smaller consulting firms (Point B, Revel etc.) and local start-ups/high tech/media companies.

Though any companies you can recommend would be great, as I don't have the best feel for the local market. Also, any headhunter firms out there that anyone recommends contacting? What are the best local job sites?

A little WW for your efforts...

Default Sorry to hear. Seems to be happening more and more everyday.

Meanwhile a top MS guy is building a 36000 sq. ft. home with ONE bedroom up on the hill overlooking Ellensburg. It looks enormous and i hear most of the space is so he can fly his model airplanes INSIDE the home. I've been driving by it everyday (i took an additional job as a tile setter since real estate is all but at a standstill for now). I'll probably hear more details as it is being built. anyway, insane.

Default Sorry to hear, I hope you find something else soon. I may be joining you...

I work under a purchase order that runs out of money after I work 3.5 hours tomorrow. I can't go back to work until they sign my new PO...if they ever do. No fun.
