Default Did they happen to be there Saturday night?

If so from the pictures I saw it looked like Galati's car. I heard the engine on his car was completely rebuilt late Saturday afternoon/early evening. Maybe they were there to work out some details.

Default Yup.. here's Jeremy's original email regarding the Champion RS6

<b>
***********original message*************

As many of you know, Saturday and Sunday were the ALMS races here at PIR.

We were pit crewing for STaSIS's Touring Car team and we had a vendor booth at their paddock as well.

On Saturday afternoon, the Champion RS6 team was having issues with Michael Galati's RS6---missing under load, etc (many of you remember my email last Wed about all of us here becoming a little more intimate with the RS6 and R8 and the local Audi dealership, Sunset Imports, thanks to Steve J, one of the Audi truck drivers....well, just wait...). Paul Lambert was over at the Champion Audi pits talking to Louis, the crew chief about the issue. They were chatting back and forth and Paul mentioned getting the car on a chassis dyno to simulate track conditions. Louis was elated with the idea if they couldn't sort out the issue. We got wind of their troubles and headed over to Champion's pits to personally offer our services to Louis. He appreciated the offer, took our cell numbers down and said that he'd let us know if that's what it came to.

About 9pm rolled around and the car still was having misfire issues and the team couldn't sort out the problems. It looked like we might be able to help. At about 10pm Sat night, Champion started to yard the engine out of Galati's RS6. At about 11pm, I received a call on my cell phone from Louis saying that he'd like to take us up on our dyno services if that was still available(hmmmm, let me see....to be able to lend Champion Audi a hand with their SpeedChannel GT series RS6...don't have to think too hard on that one). So at midnight Dustin and I set up shop while Justin and Shaun were finalizing things at the track.

Close to 2am, Champion shows up with their gooseneck trailer and the whole 10person crew. They unload the burly RS6, and throw it on the dyno.

We spent a few hours with them dynoing the RS6. Unfortunately, they weren't able to locate the misfiring issue at that time. However, the fact that we found out that the issue still hadn't been solved, even with the replacement engine installed, meant that they decided to use the backup RS6(that we saw Wed night), which put them at the back of the pack to start Sunday's race....Pobst ended up getting 2nd and Galati went through the pack and took 10th(Champion crew members mentioned to Shaun and Justin Sunday that we had saved the race for them as without the dyno work, they would have probably still run Galati's car as it was after the replacement engine at 12am Sat night(still misfiring under load)--and definitely wouldn't have placed so well.

So, Saturday/Sunday was an opportunity that we'll probably never have again. And in true Matrix Integrated fashion, we stepped up to the plate and went the extra mile. The simple opportunity to help in itself was so very rewarding.

Some (of the many) pics att'd.

PS--If any of you are around today, Champion is coming by in 1hour(10:30am) with the RS6 to try to dyno further before they head off to Mosport.

Best regards,

Jeremy Williams
