1991 Audi 100 Horsepower increase
#3
10vt is faaaar cheaper and easier in the 10v cars...
besides, they can do head work, new cam, mess with the intake manifold, get a new exhaust manifold, new exhaust system, and mess with the CIS system, and probably get some fairly significant gains. May be a bit higher strung motor, but it'd make more power ;-)

Big Valve head, ported & polished, Schrick cam, other mods..........Got $$$$$$$$? ;O)

Re: Mmmkay....you got any bigger #'s?:-)
A pair of brothers are supposedly running 300hp in one of their CIS cars, and 375hp in the other. Both are pushing over 20psi (one is now close to 25psi). They were at Waterfest with one of them I think? They post in the 5k/200/V8 forum now too.
Also, figure that you can get an MC-1 or MC-2, with wiring, ECU, manifolds, etc for $800 + shipping from Chris Semple. Find one yourself for even cheaper. Plus, last time I checked, the 3B, AAN, AEB, or ATW all cost a LOT more to rebuild than the 10vt. A total 10vt rebuild (with factory bits) is ~1200, including some machine shop time, and every single nut, bolt, gasket, and seal.
10vt's are cheap, and plentiful ;-)

Re: 10VT make more power than 20VT...pass me some of what you are doing ;)
I think you misunderstood me, as well as Smokin...
I was referring to modifing the 10v NF motor that resides in their engine bay currently, not about modifing the 10vt or the 20vt (not even touching the 1.8t, which would be a PITA to put in a type44 chassis).
When we type44/4A and type89 guys refer to a 20vt, we are referring to the original 20vt (from the KW to the ADU), not the 1.8t ;-)
