Default 5 bar FPR with MTM stage 2 and K04

I just put in a K04 and have the same MTM stage 2 software. Now that the temps are starting to get consistantly above 70F I'm holding about 25psi.

The local tuner that I get my software etc from says I don't need it but I'm starting to wonder if I would be safer to put on in.

MTM stage 3 software calls for 5 bar FPR.

Default Can't answer your question but I have a couple...

is your tuner Anderson Motorsport? And are they able to sell MTM's K04 programming separately, or are they like Hoppen and refuse to do that?

Default You dont want to put a 5 bar fpr in with a chip that is tuned for a 4 bar.

Your better off going to the correct chip with the 5 bar fpr.

Default Whoa! 25 lbs? I've spiked at 21 and hold around 18.

I wonder what the difference is. FMIC? I don't have one, but am putting on the EVOMS unit in a couple weeks. Do you think that'll make a difference?

Default I'm not sure what you mean about seperate programming

but as far as getting the programming from Anderson I will have to get the MTM downpipe and hiflow cat. I guess MTM was getting blamed for turbo problems or other problems when people were using equipment other than MTM.

It sounds like you need almost everything MTM to get the software.

Default programming = software...

so yeah, I wanted to get the components for a K04 kit separately, then send my ECU to Anderson for them to chip w/ MTM's K04 software. From your reply it sounds like they don't do that... bummer.

Default Before I had the new turbo I would hold at 21 and taper from there

It could be the year of your car. What year is it? Mine is a '97 so I have the bigger injectors.
