might buy an a4

i heard that the turbo lag is killer .... can anyone tell me how the 1.8T performs compared to other cars in its class.

A4 is a small/mid size sedan with turbo and awd.

elipse/talon kills em.. but they are 2 door and lighter.

A4 should own BMW 3 series (not M3) with light mods.

WRX/EVO both is faster than a A4, but they are not luxury sedans

closest thing i can compare it to is the lexus IS300... but IS300 comes with I6 stock and doesn't have awd or turbo...

you ever drive one, in stock form there is almost 0 lag.

iunno.... i just started lookin into it... i read somewhere that someone complained about horrible lag..

but iunno....just wonderin

The car pulls strong from 2700 to redline fairly well in stock form...
From idle to 2700 the performance is no worse than any other 1.8 four banger...But hit 2700 and BANG the car starts pulling
But I know a girl that has the SI just before this newest one (where the v-tec lob change is noticable) and she never gets above 3000 rpm... go figure...
