Default Adjustable Centre Differential (increasing ratio of torque to back wheels)

Hey guys

Has anyone heard of anyone, or have any idea how you would go about adapting the Torsen diff system to increase the ratio of torque send to the back wheels.

The reason is that sway bar + playing with tyres / tyre pressure doesnt reduce understeer for me sufficiently. Im looking for the ability to powerslide around corners Evo style.

It would have to done by increasing the torque driven to the rear wheels and be solid enough to work with approximately 350 horsepower at the flywheel.

Thanks

Default well are you talking about power-on oversteer or transition oversteer?

it's really easy to kick the tail out by jerking the wheel back and forth, as you would in an autocross during quick transitions. however, he's talking about actually being in a corner, stomping on the gas, and having the tail come out. My car, with s4 coilovers and a NS rear bar set to stiff, will oversteer when pushed, but will understeer a bit under power. However, when i test drove the evo...i was absolutely amazed. when i got on the gas, instead of simply tracking out like my car would do, it rotated and gave me some oversteer. the car is amazing...i'm a believer. while the a4 may be able to get some oversteer during transitions, i haven't been able to create it by giving the car more gas like i could in the evo.

Lar hit the nail on the head - I would like to achieve power on oversteer.

On a hairpin brake early and then go hard on the gas just before hitting the apex breaking the back end slightly loose and drifting the backend through the apex while the fronts stay on target and then pulling the back end back in on exit.

Thanks for the link tgjl - thats exactly the sort of thing I am looking for.

Default differensial lock on the rear end allows for powerslides...

I have a RS2 rear diff, with vacum controlled diff locking...

But you have to drive agressively and hard...
Drive nice, and the locked up rearwheels will steer the car straight ahead!

Default Jet Jockey has a B6 A4 with the Stasis 4 to 1 Torsen mod...

allowing for up to 80/20 power distribution. Look him up. He seemed quite happy with the results. cheers! Mike
