Anybody out there have a problem with rust on the stock K03s???

The center cartridge and "hot side" are both cast iron. They rust. Depending on age and where you live, they may rust a fair amount. My K26 (from late 1985) was very rusty (center cartridge) which cleaned up quite well in a sand-blast cabinate. None of the mating surfaces were affected, and the rust wasn't very "deep." The hot side wasn't horrible, fairly minor surface rusting.

In short, don't worry about it.
