anyone else ever lost their idle with APR's Stage III kit?
i started my car this morning to find that my idle was toast! if i could get the revs up, the car sounded fine but if i let the revs get back down towards idle, it would almost die or just shut off. i just noticed that for the short time that it runs, a bit of blue smoke is coming out of the exhaust, so it must be running rich. also, even when the revs are lower than 2k rmp, the car sounds like it's choking and makes sort of a "whippling" noise if there is such a thing. my check engine light has occasionaly been coming on but i've been dismissing it because i haven't been able to get a VAG-COM tool just yet. anyone else have this problem? APR said it might be a leak in the intake system. who knows though. by the way, anyone in the seattle area have a VAG-COM tool, i sure could use one right now. email me at bingknight@hotmail.com thanks

Rich L. had (has?) that problem in his 99'Avant.....
and I have a small drop in RPM's when shes cold after the choke goes off. But, she does'nt stall.
Look for Rich L. around if you can find a post, e-mail him.

Clean the throttle body....
There is TSB on this. It made a HUGE difference on the last stage 3 I did

http://www.vwwebsource.com/vwtechcontent/audipdf/a240001.pdf

It's your spark plugs....
They are covered with carbon. Pull them out, and wire brush them. Should do the trick...for now. Let me know if you solve the richness problem. The code you are probably getting is random or sporadic misfire.

If you find one, run block 60 in normal mode to run throttle adapt.
My past experience I have seen very similar situations on stock vehicles and they acted just like you are describing. Running throttle adapt fixed almost every one of them. Can't hurt?
