Can't believe I kept up with him from 0 to 100km/h then I was slowly inching away from him!!!
We shut off at about 140 km/h.
I've only got a 1bar Wett chip, K&N and Supersprint rear muffler in a 1.8T FWD.

Is this expected? This was reproducible 3 times at the traffic lights.

Realize that:

a) The S2k's strength isn't off the line accelleration. It doesn't have that much torque, just a 9k RPM redline. This means that it loses something off the line to anything with much torque.

b) he probably didn't wrap it all the way up. I see a lot of people driving S2k's who just don't understand that if you don't wrap it to red every shift, you're seriously crippling the car's performance. A lot of people drive them and don't think they're that fast. They're wrong, but they're also shifting at 7k RPM because that seems really high to them.
