Default Anyone tried ~$20 1/2" torque wrench from ebay?

There's a bunch of 1/2" click type torque wrenches on ebay for $15-25. I'm looking for one to use occasionally (1-2x per year??) and I don't want to invest the $70+ that I see for most torque wrenches. Wondering if these are any good.

Default Snap-on is a little excessive unless you use them all day everyday

Go with Craftsman. They work great and you don't have to sell your car to afford them.

Default I use the $20 Pittsburg model - which is the same as the $29 one from TireRack...

...works fine for me, because I primarily use it to torque my wheel bolts. If someone walks off with it at the track, I wont be crying the blues either. I've used it on the suspension and spark plugs too.

You can easily spend $100 on a higher quality wrench, but thats probably a waste if youre only using it 1-2x per year (for wheel bolts?)

Thats my two cents.<ul><li><a href="http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=239">Pittsburg 1/2" torque wrench</a></li></ul>

Default My friend gave me his old Sears, nice tool! Used it for the wheels, brake job etc. and,

lifetime warranty... For what I do on my cars this is totally ok.

Snap-On would be nice but.....

My buddy had two expensive wrenches. Both are broken. I have the "cheap", as you call it, tool and it's still going strong. I've seen enough expensive tools broken. At this point I'd look for the cheapest tool with a warranty if I needed tools.

Default Are you sure about the warranty. Usually tq wrenches are not covered for lifetime...

At the sears site they range from 2 years to 90 days. Tq wrenches are notorious for going crap after a few years.
