Default anyone wanna help me with some maths???

i can't find a 4wd dyno here in vancouver canada. so i am stuck guessing what hp i am making.

the relevant data i have,

before upgrade:
APR chip, exhaust, cone filter.

MAX MAF recorded = 148 g/s (lets say this = WHP)

with APR chip alone i was to make 209 CHP.
so that gives me drivetrain loss of 29.2% lets say 30% and its pretty close for quattro TT.

after gt25/40r running 20psi boost,
still apr chip /w split sec VC1 and PSC001 running on the rich side,

MAX MAF = 256 g/s (corrected)

so what, that gives me 256 WHP and 365 CHP??

if anyone knows a better way to estimate, let me know.

Default You could weigh your car and go to the drag strip....

I would say go off a known value, like the stock ratings.

See what a stock reading is for your car. Then compare that to the stock BHP. Then just figure the differecne in air flow and relate it to BHP.

With the GT25 you have 256 g/s.

Air flow change:
(256-STOCK MAF)/STOCK MAF = air flow change

So you're new HP would roughly be:
(1+air flow change)*STOCK BHP = NEW BHP

Of course this is highly inaccurate with timing changes, et al., but it's a start.

Default

Isn't that going to seriously depend on the compression ratio of the engine??

Default There is a vag block that will give you an idea of the tq your making.

You cant really go by the maf readings since the readings can be changed within the chip to what the 5 volt reading is equal to.

How do you get 30% for a TT that is not really awd since it is fwd based and only puts power down to the rear wheels when traction is lost at the front. With the quattro A4's we tend to use a 22-25% drive line loss and we are AWD all the time.

Default hmm i guess i am stuck guessing till i go down usa for dyno.. which is too much for me.

1.8T engine running 19psi redline with atp gt28rs was making 310whp, about 350chp according someone on vortex. very similar setup regarding fuel, maf, and running rich etc.

i am running 22psi to redline, so i can only guess that i am making 380chp+ so that leaves me 300whp if i take 25% drivetrain loss.

Default so i am getting 33.83lb/min = 373chp so close to my 365chp guess

anyway now i am pushing 2lbs more, so about 22lbs so i m must be over 380chp. guess it stops here. my original goal was 350chp.

Default

power has direct relation to the rate air gets burned inside. so its a good general number.

Default Take the car to the track and the mph will tell you exactly what your making for power.

If your making 380+ chp then you should be able to run around 110 mph.

Default I think that is a bit optimistic. By that calc I am making 327 crank on my 93 program. That would be

nice but ....
