Default APR stage 3 and PES T-28 butt dyno questions...

I have not had the chance to ride in a APR Stage 3 or a PES T-28 but have heard people say they are VERY fast, and some people say one feels faster than the other, etc. What cars are comparable in the butt dyno category and how would you rate the butt dyno of a big turbo kit to a 2001.5 chipped A4 with an exhaust/FMIC. I am very tempted to upgrade but am not sure the car will be fast enough to warrant spending 7k for the kit, clutch, install, etc. What do you guys think?

Default omfg... do not buy either kit based on other people's impressions

Get a ride in one or both. Then make a decision.

I'd also do a little reading on the A4 forum. Since you are an 01.5 your choices may be limited.

Default Stay away from PES... Thats all I will say.

I didn't listen to people's warnings and it cost me lots and lots of money.

Default Definetly get a ride in both (like I did this past weekend....-->

APR...Smooth...diff octane programs...over built kit.

PES...***** to the wall throw you in your seat (both do a good job of this....no octance programs ..YET (flipswitch is coming) Garrett chip tuned for aggresiveness.

Tons of support for the APR...both kits have thier respective issues. I'm still trying to decided which one to get. I'll drop you an e-mail you might enjoy reading though.

Default FYI: I think that PES does have a 100 oct / 1.5 bar program... Ask RAD69 for more info

However its on nearly as easy to switch programs as it is with the APR sofware.

Default We are nDBW - he is DBW... I dunno what they offer for DBW

Plus I forget which big turbo kits are available for which DBW years and which are known to have issues.

Default about your race chip...

Did you have to pay extra, or was it part of the PES/GIAC free upgrade policy?

I would be nice if GIAC would hurry up and release IBE for us.
