Default Big break question.

What is the minimum gap that I should have between the caliper and the wheel? Or if it fits it it ok?

Default Ive seen a ~2mm Gap when cold between the calliper and wheel spoke

SSR Gt3's. It was smaller when hot, just enough to slip a dollar through. But then again ive seen setups with more gap with series signs of interference ( tri sport egineering, with mazda protoge's (sp?) alcon calipers and SSR comp wheels).

Default With good wheels a business card will suffice, all of the others better to keep at about

1/8th". If it's just touching you can grind some off the calipers as they are quite thick.

Default 1.5mm was too little for me.

Bearings will allow for that much deflection and cause interference with the wheel. I know for a fact that 1.5mm didn't cut it.

I wouldn't go any lower than 5mm myself.

Yup, I've actually had no problems with either set of ATS wheels I have on the Coupe fitting over the 993's. The 16" wheel is a dime's width away from the caliper radially, whereas the the 17" wheel is extremely close axially. No marks on the caliper body from the wheels...

Default I've got about 2mm between my calipers and wheels

never had a problem with deflection, here's a pic:

Wheels are 17x8 BBS RK's, calipers are Porsche 996 on OEM S4 Rotors. No wheel spacers.

Hey Mike O., I see in one of your pictures there is a plastic cap on your jack head. Where did you get that cap? I am worried about using a roll away jack on my car, that cap looks like the solution.
