have the cat to return it to stock .. or .. someone's cat flange on the DP side breaks and that is NOT covered by the 80k/8yr warranty as it is post cat not pre ...

Re: Only if I get half
OK guys I really do need your help on this. Is there something in my warranty about my cat. or have I voided the warranty by putting the Borla on in the first place. Or should I find the guy that put on the exhuast and hit him with the bill for the new CAT.

Why should a catback not void it?
Just playing devil's (errr...dealer's) advocate here...
...but if you've got an aftermarket exhaust hanging on an OEM cat and the flange breaks, I'd say the dealer has a pretty good case. Who knows how well your exhaust fits....one can't expect the dealer just to assume that it fits like stock and doesn't put any extra strain on the cat.
I was actually in this position myself. I've had a Borla catback for about 20K miles (at 100K now) and my cat flange just broke clean off a month ago. If I was under the emissions warranty, I sure would've asked to see if they would cover it but most definitely would've understood if they said no because of my exhaust. I do think the fitment of my Borla caused some extra strain...it seems to be quite a common problem with old Borla owners. My .02...

Finally an answer, (ignore the grammer)
Yesterday as I'm driving around town listening to the "problem". (Now you must remember I never really found out whether it was the exhaust or the cat vibrating against the car. Curry's (in VA) just told me that it was the cat and I needed to have it replaced @ a cost of 1400 mucho dinero) I pass by the place that the "illegal" welding of the cat back onto the turbo). So I pick up my cellphone and ask them whether they can make me another Cat. They say just bring it by and they'll look at it. 5 minutes later they see that the cat isn't touching anything and that the but upon hitting the exhaust with a hemmer a couple times they see that it was the exhaust hitting the REAR AXLE. WTF. so a touch of the blow torch later and a little bending of the support pin. I drive and away and the problem is GONE. DAMN I love welding. Now it's time for the STAGE 2. But thanks to all who helped me out on this.
