Default BOV problems solved

Ok since the problem with a BOV is that the metered air is released -> the car runs rich(not big problem IMO, better than lean)

why not move the maf. By making the maf blow through it should

A)Allow a BOV with no richness problems jsu tput the BOV before the maf
B) should allow more air to be metered? (Ive heard this on Turbo forums else where) but I dotn think anyone here has that problem

by movign the maf you could also re develop the intake side completely since your no longer restricted by the sensors

just a thought....any ideas.cons ?

Default You can't put the bov before the maf...

You can't have the MAF after the turbo because it will be reading the compressed air that will not only screw up the readings but also probably be hot enough to fry the MAF... by saying put the BOV before the MAF it will put it downstream of the turbo it will cause these problems...

well the way I see it is youd still be reading the same amount of air, wouldnt you. It doesnt disappear right? air @ 1bar = air @ 5bar(i think, it should have the same content just less space, right) The heat, run it after the IC it would give you exact intake temps and should yeild better performance with tuning since of that reason.

IF NOT
why couldnt you move the maf infront of the turbo inlet and put the BOV in fornt. still unpressureized and no heat.

It is a simple solution. It will work, its just not a 3 min job.

FWIW, I ran my turbo 12v with the MAF after the turbo, intercooler and BOV, the only thing between the MAF and the throttle body was the 2 additional injectors. This caused NO drivability or reliability problems. This was running 10psi of boost. May not apply to a 1.8t, but it worked for me.

Default I'm a bit skeptical, but give it a shot, it could work, I'm just not willing...

to go through all of those problems for a little sound.
