can we put S4 automatic trasmission on A4 ?

Torque converter only?
I've kind of wondered two things along these lines.
1) Don't you think the real limit is in the torque converter and not the whole tranny gear train?
and
2) What do you suppose is really happening when you exceed the Tip torque specs? Do you think you're stressing what - the converter? some gears? or do you suppose that the torque converter is just slipping when you really hammer and the real problem is the A4 tranny is not just getting over stressed, but is slowing you down.
Been wondering this when I step on the gas with my PES A4...
