4 channel.
if it was 2 channel, it would be a wasted spark setup

Default so, technically the answer is both!
B5 A4 from '96 had the AFC engine, which had a waste spark design. Everything else is 4 or 6 channel though. ;-P

12V/30V = 2 channel, 20V = 4 channel, later 30V = 6 channel
