I know there is Variable Ignition Timing.
More specifically the engine code AMU

only the 01's and 01.5's with the 170hp engines.

Default Really?! I was not aware of any Audi's w/ VVT (Porsche yes...Audi?!)
Upon further look...2.4 and 2.8L A6...but 1.8T? Anyways wow learn something new everyday

That I am not sure of. I believe that the 2002 on all are. I am not sure before.

Only the 180HP TT's and the A4's have the VVTi.
Search the TT forum for lots of posts about this. You'll be amazed.

The S3 has the same drivetrain and it has variable cam phasing...same for the Seat Leon Cupra R.
