Does this sauce work in the tranny?
Manual 5 speed, '96 A4 2.8 12v
I'd prefer an upgrade from the OEM fluids. I don't drive in very cold temps. Does the following sound good? Does anybody use those?
Tranny: Redline MT-90
Rear differential fluid: Redline 75w90 GL5 oil

Yes
In the tranny only use GL4, in the rear diff GL5 is OK. Never use a GL5 where there is yellow metal. The extra HP additives will cause it to oxidize, and fail.
I use NEO Synthetics in mine. 75-90 in the rear diff, and RHD in the tranny. RHD is GL5, but is OK for tranny use, read the spec's. Also I have steel synchro's so it doesn't matter.

NEO

I don't have steel synchros...
What's the advantage of using NEO 75W-90/RHD instead of NEO 75W-90/HD? The RHD seems to work with limited slip differentials?
Also, wouldn't the HD work just fine in both, the tranny and the rear differential?
