Default engine question..

are the motor mounts on a 1991 vw gti the same on a newer one? my friend wants to put a vr6 in his 1991 gti? is it possible or need modifications ir what? How much does a vr6 engine cost and where can i get one? thanks

you would need the vr6 subframe bolts right up to the vw gti, and because of its a 91 gti if he were to get obdII( obdI) don't remember right now, but wiring is plug and play. Really simple swap. Suspension is a consideration. swapping to 5/100 many choose to do now(wider track). its called the +plus suspension. but its really easy for the most part. Do it in a couple days if your mechanically handy. but yes vortex is the right place to go too. Techtonics, can suppy your buddy with all his exhaust needs etc.
