engine turn off prob.
recently when i have been stopping at a traffic light i'm having a prob. I have my car in neutral at the light, and all of a sudden my r.p.m goes slightly over one thousand without me pushing on the gas pedal, and then the needle comes back all the way down and my car dies. But i can turn it back on again, so i know its not from the battery or the alternator. This happens to me once or twice a day. Has this to anyone, if so please help. i appreciate it.

Re: engine turn off prob.
There is a tech bulletin for this problem. The most likely cause is oil & dirt deposits in the throttle body make the throttle body valve 'sticky' so the idle controller has a hard time controlling the idle. If you somewhat handy with tools, you can check/fix this yourself.

Re: engine turn off prob.
thanx a lot you, when i took my car to the dealership to get a service appointment, i asked one of the mechanics what was causing this, and he said it was from the idle stabilizer valve, so i guess you guys are right also, i was just making sure with you guys first, so i wont have to pay for something i dont need, or get ripped off by the dealership in other words. so thnx, my appoint is set for may 8th. oh, and i fill 92' octane, is it good to use fuel injection cleaner and stuff like that in my car? cause i heard bad stuff about putting products like that in your gas tank.
