Found my problem...
A few post down I was posting about going into limp mode. The problem is the MAF! I did what COTTING told me and unpluged the MAF. No codes, no limp. Car's running well. I was at a meet in NY and 2 VW techs were there with us. They VAG the car and figured out the problem. Now I'm driving with the MAF unpluged until my service day. i'm glad that you've found the problem...
I just ordered a new MAF for myself yesterday. Unfortunately my GTI is not under factory warranty anymore, and my aftermarket warranty has a $200 deductible, so I have to shell out the cash for the MAF out of my pocket. But at least it will be fixed correctly and I'll know it (if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself)
