Default FREE GAS! Almost.................

Went to a Texaco station to fill me tank with some 93 octane. Old style pumps with the analog numbers wheels that spin like a slot machine!
Stuck the nozzle in the tank, pulled handle, locked into clip and gas was a flowing into my tank! Left nozzle to check fluids under hood.
Couple minutes later heard that all to familuar
"Clunk" of the gas nozzle stating my tank was full! Replaced nozzle onto pump, and went inside to pay. Really didnt pay much attention to the whole process. Got inside and the gal behind the counter stated "$10"!???? I thought for a second, then figured the nozzle stopped too early?? Payed my $10, and departed! Drove only a few hunderd feet down the road and seen my gas guage climbing past 1/2, then 3/4, and come to a rest on "F"!

Normally a $28 event...........

Default Your car must have not been out of gas. The sender might be broken. I drove my car from AZ back to

CA. I stopped in Palm Springs with the gauge saying I had 100 miles left on that tank. When I started up the car again it was on zero. I drove over an hour on zero all the way home. My gauge also sweeps back and for and the numbers go up and down all the time when the car is sitting at idle. The dealer is replacing my sending unit.

Default I used to know of a pump like that--

The drum with the numbers would get hung up and with some careful pumping we could get the thing to stick.

We'd fill up a truck and jetski for under $3.
