Ah, OK. That makes sense. I wonder what the stock pressure drop is?

Default No, it would be the same until.....

the stock IC get's heat soaked. Once that happens, the stock IC can't reject the heat fast enough, so the intake temps start to climb. The stock IC heatsoaks very fast on a chipped car.

Default I wonder if your oil temps are higher since the IC blocks the radiator somewhat...

this drives the coolant temp up, and the oil as well.

Default could be more cooling and less backpressure

Then again, maybe not.

Default what kind of chip are you running now?

I have a GIAC, and it never spikes that high, just hits 17-18 and stays there. I wonder if it's a DBW thing?

Default Re: It almost sounds like your IC is restricting your flow so much

The reason the turbo is working harder is cause the cooler is much bigger so the turbo has to work harder to keep the cooler preasurised and still keep the same boost preasure at the intake manifold.
BTW: that stock turbo is so small that the stock cooler is almost to big, my 3 cyl 1 litre Firefly turbo was bigger.

Default i thought about that, but the oil temp would only rise if the coolant temp did, and coolant temp is

fine, its no higher than before

as of now im running the APR v.3 with cone intake, FMIC and high flow cat
