A3 4 Me

I'm a chip newbie, an Audi newbie (just ordered A4 1.8 Q, Santorin!), and not the least bit aware of the nuances of engines & performance. Nevertheless, from reading these boards I'm likely to chip as soon as I get a few thousand miles on my engine. Can someone explain a bit of detail between the .8, 1.0 & 1.5 chips? What they do differently? Risks/rewards? Etc.? Thanks!

AWE says there is no GIAC 1.5, only a 1.0...spoke w/ them last week.

The GIAC is a Stage 1.5 and it's actually a 1.15 bar chip.

Thanks, but can anyone answer my questions re: what the chips actually do, and the differences between them?

the more boost, the more stress on the turbo, but also more hp and torque, which to me means more fun! There is not 1.5 bar chip, at least not for the standard K03 turbo. If there is, I probably wouldn't buy it.

I am using a GIAC race chip that sees 1.3 to 1.64 bar of boost..

There is currently only one version GIAC per ECU. Ignore old numbering system like 1.0 or 1.5
