Default Hey xr4tic....

Haven't read this forum in a while, just wanted to know how your car is running? I used to follow the saga when you were in the middle of it...any dyno runs 1/4mile times?

Default I'm sort of stuck right now....

The MAF is maxing out by 5500 RPM and the injectors are maxed out at only 16psi of boost.

The MAF is the main problem. I need a larger one, but that would take some major chip reprogramming to do, and either no one is willing to do it, or I'm not willing to pay for it.

Standalone isn't an option because it's too much (no budget left)

I removed the water injection, but I'm thinking that if I put it back on, then I can run more boost without having to upgrade the injectors, but that would cause the MAF to max out even sooner.

I am working on another option, but it's top-secret

Default Top secret eh?

would this be similar to the fueling setup the Green VW in the EC 1.8t challenge is running?

from what i saw/read he used some mixed OEM parts with his T3/T4 & got good results

Default Out of curiosity, and I am sure you have thought of this

What about running 550cc injectors, the PES MAF housing, and the T-28 chip that Ryann has? Wouldn't PES upgrade you to it for cheap since the current chip you bought from them did not work out? Your turbo would not max out like his T-28 but it has got to be closer than what you have now.

Been wondering about this for some reason...

Default What size maf housing do you need john?

I am getting ready to have my car tuned with a 3.5" maf housing that then opens up to 4" before the turbo.

Maybe you should talk to Lucas and see if you can try running a copy of his chip for the 3" maf and 440cc injectors. He seems to be running good with that and making some good power to run mid 12's.

Default I've already got a 3" MAF, nearly identical to what PES has...

except it doesn't narrow down like theirs does.

I can get the 550 chip, but theres no point in going to larger injectors until the MAF issue is fixed, because once the MAF maxes out, it cranks the injectors wide open, and with 550s, they might be way too rich.

You could probably tune it for a maxed out MAF, but any changes in temp, boost, etc would throw the A/F ratio off, so you'd have to run way on the rich side just in case. Not the ideal programming.

Default I've got a 3" housing now...

but I really, really, really hate the stock MAF. I feel like it's going to fry any day now.

I could go to a larger housing, but then I'd have to redo my intake setup since I'm still running the stock MAF as a blow-thru (I'm surprised it's lived this long)

Default why don't you do what I heard PES did?

put a side vent on the MAF, letting a fixed % of the air bypass the maf sensor, which should leave you with linear data with more air

Default Are you pushing the same amount of CFM as lucas is doing at 20+ psi

with his GT2535. The other way to do might be to try a chip from a ndbw APR stage 3 which has the maf readings change as a work around, bad thing is you might have to then go to larger injectors since they still use the stock maf housing with 440's.

Default have you tried different chips?

Like maybe a K04 chip like the one of the guys int eh 1.8T challenge?

How about tuning yourself through direct port? Talk to APR about that?
