How to change 1st to 2nd shift point on S4 Tip?
My S4 shifts from 1st to 2nd at a paltry 2000rpm when in Tiptronic mode. Any way to increase that number, or, change it so I control when it shifts?
(sorry, I'm new!)

Since no one else has jumped in here,
and keeping in mind that I have an '01 S8, not an S4, my transmission does not behave this way at all.
In Tip mode it'll hold any gear to about 7200 rpm. The Tip will shift on it's own only if I don't shift manually before then. In "auto", it can shift early based on throttle position, but at full throttle, it shifts at 7200.
Needless to say, something doesn't sound right with your S4 Tip. I suggest you repost the question in the S4/RS4 forum. I'm sure you'll get a quick response.

Or perhaps recoding with VAG COM ...
This is the <A HREF="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/auto_transmission/codingtransmission.html">A8 Recode Procedure</a>; I have no idea if something like this works with an S4.

Re: Since no one else has jumped in here,
Already posted in the S4 forum. Not much response. Too many racer dudez in there...
One thing I haven't tried is really punching it from a stop. I think it'll allow me to shift after 2k if I do that.

When in "auto", the S8 Tip uses ...
a "dynamic shift program" (DSP), to adjust shift points to your normal driving style. If you normally drive with a light foot, the transmission shifts early; if you drive with a heavy right foot, it'll shift at a higher rpm. You're S4 is probably the same.
Personally, since it takes the computer a while to adjust to a new driving style, I'm not particularly enthusiastic about this "feature". The only real solution is to take the transmission out of auto, run in Tip mode, and shift wherever you want.
