How much power?... (also on A4 Forum)
...with GIAC chip (or APR for that matter?)on a 2001.5 1.8T.
AWE Tuning claims "+40hp +80 ft/lbs. Torque for the 170hp engine with GIAC chip"(see awe-tuning.com). That seems pretty much.
Other GIAC installer promise much less power from the same chip. Do they run different softmare?
Anyone has experience with chiped 2001.5 1.8TQM.
I'd like to see power charts or acceleration comparison of stock, chipped and/or 2.8
Who to believe?...

APR...
They claim 245 pound/foot of torque peaking at about 3500 RPM which is pretty consistent with other 1.0 Bar chip suppliers. APR also claims to be delivering 207 HP (no RPM specified) on the 2001, versus 200 HP at 5500 RPM for earlier models. The difference is probably the effects of VVT at higher RPMs.
