I need new brakes! would appreciate suggestions (S4)
(S4)
After ~8500 miles, including 3 track events, my brakes are fried. At one point during the last event, I pulled off into the pits, and when I rolled to a stop, my brakes were smoking like a barbeque!
Anyway, now, when I step on the brakes gently, everything is okay, but anything beyond that and they go
THUGGIDA THUGGIDA THUGGIDA THUGGIDA
Really loud. Quite unnerving.
My options, as I see them, are:
0) Live with thuggida, and see if it gets better or goes away;
1) Get the dealer to replace pads/rotors under warranty;
2) Buy more durable pads and/or rotors, using stock calipers; or
3) ****can the stock setup and replace it entirely.
I plan on going to the track a few times a year, but do most of my driving on the street.
I'd be curious to hear anyone's thoughts.
Time is of the essence since I'm going back to the track in a few weeks!
Thanks

i know alot of older Audi and A4. S4 owners switching to Resma Gold pads and they put very little dust and i mean it. 2wks worth of dust on the Remsa pads are compared to 1-2days on the OEM crap. i(Resma) have them on my Audi and i love them and i drive her hard...i've had Mintex and i hated them and had ATE slotted rotors and they were chewed up in 5months time in chicago...i run the Zimmermann's rotors and Resma Gold pads and they are great. if u want the # and email to my Audi guy in chicago..he gets them both and anything else for Audi direct from germany and a very low price and sells a very low price..let me know. BMWSLYR IN WA.
