Default I want power overstear ,is there a torsen controler for an 01 S4.

Iam looking for a 25/75 or variable torque split. A higher initial torque and accel side limited-slip at the rear wheels.Anybody heard of porsche turbo or nissan skyline or most rally cars. The technology is out there, am I the only one that wants it?

Default Just get a torsen that allows more of a maximum rear bias...

...the stock torsen differential will only allow the torque to be split in a maximum 3:1 ratio to either axle, so you are always getting at least 25% of the torque to the front axle. There is a torsen that allows the split to be 6:1, so that you can get the amount of torque to the front wheels down to 14% with that. Check with Stasis, or Corey or Sharon about that one. You don't want anything to activate EDL. If you've ever experienced EDL activiting in a performance situation, you should know how horrific it is.

Default Why?

Why do you want that much differential f/r?

You really do want better control don't you?

Mine is locked at 50/50 since I don't have a center diff, and once you understand how it is going to react, it is amazing. Using the throttle you can either have it understeer or oversteer, depending on the situation.

Oversteer makes for a good show, but it isn't faster.

Balance is the key

OK if you don't want to mod suspension like we suggested, get the Stasis diff mod.

Default Most WRC rally teams only have a 40/60 (f/r) split max.

The exception to this rule, years ago, were the Audi rally cars. The reason why most teams ran a 40/60 split was to mimick rear drive handling characteristics. You have to realise that most of the rally drivers graduated from rear wheel drive rally cars and rear wheel drive handling characteristics provided the driver a more predictable and familiar handling characteristic. Also, anything more than a 40/60 split starts to defeat the benefits of AWD.

Default Re: I want power overstear update.

stasis sells a 4:1 conversion for about $500.They say it will give up to 80% bias. Also they recomend a reconditioned porsche rear limited slip ,the part alone is about $1000. Along with suspention mods and rear sway understear is almost eliminated, but I belive that any time the front wheels are using all their grip to turn any torque will force a compromise.I think its time to embrase the trailling throtle overster on those hairpins and accidentaly early apexes. Thanx for all the feedback. P.S. I hear somewere that some rally cars have controler ***** in the car to adjust torque split using a viscous coupler. Is it posible to replace torsen with a V.C.? If anyone truly undestands the skyline's system I would apreceate the info.
