Default Hey Mike, just to make sure, we're still talking about John's forged, which is also what I have.

I don't know how the turbo XS's is body constructed and how smooth the piston (?) moves up and down it's track as well as what kind of spring it has.

I don't know how a Bosch can solve your problem, and what kind of Bosch you used, because the ones on the A4 have pretty soft springs iirc. The 710 Bosch on my 225TT honks with the MTM chip (and eventually rips) but the forge doesn't.

And since you're taking my post word for word, I should really be careful in what I post. When I said the the turbo will not make boost when the bpv is open, you probably already know what I meant but I'm sure you just want to counter it. My mistake was, I should have said, the turbo cannot build boost at the intake track when the BPV is open. Now, if you still think that is wrong, and if you think your turbo provides the boost for your car when the BPV is open, I sure hope you are under the surge limit when the BPV is closed. Then again, a KO4 pumping into a 2 liter will never get there, so that's safe. Of course a turbo makes boost as long as the turbines are spinning (fast enough of course). I know the turbine outlet temps reach over 250 to 350F for a reason - and why it's called a compressor in the first place. And since you mentioned the #1 and only job of a BPV is to release boost pressure from the IC and to keep it from coming back at the turbo while you get off the throttle, I want to make sure that we are talking A4 and the BPV releases the boost pressure before the IC - but I know what you mean anyway - I just want to point that out

oh yeah, we're not talking about Bosch, so I don't know why you have to bring up the side inlet of the Bosch.

Default hey, I'm not dead yet. I'll repost this tread when I'm eighty or before my death bed

whichever comes first to post how I did against my goal.

Should I even tell you how many cars I have in my garage right now? And how many of them are turbo charged? The only one I let go was a 91 Talon because it was becoming a pain to maintain after the 2nd gear broke.

Do you want to know what my future purchases are going to be? Here's a hint. I'm not getting the new '04 S4.

Do you know I know how to turbocharge NA cars too?

maybe you see where I'm getting at. take care.

Default you dont need to pull the manifold......

@ the most take off the solenoid box.... IIRC it has 2x 10mm bolts holding it on....

be careful with the plastic nipple on the box....it can get brittle from the heat.....dont ask how i know
