Default Intake filter

I installed an intake filter to my 2004 A4. There is no hose and no connection to the secondary Auxillary pipe as it has its own mini filter. It worked and sounded great, but the check engine light just went on. Any ideas?

Default Move the KN farther away from the MAF and dont oil it excessively. I have found if KN is more than a

foot and a half away they are non-issues, and if you dont overoil they arent a problem either, but many here will dissagree, can only say better them than me!
