Intake Temp Logs...
Anybody have intake temperature logs with their stock intake box vs. a cone filter setup like LLTek? I am considering getting a cone filter, but I want to see temp numbers proving these out on a 1.8T before spending money. Because Stage III is also junk.
;-)
It's all about getting cold air to the filter. A cone filter by itself will probably just get hot air, but if you cole it up and feed it cold air, you'll be okay.

Most of them (least ones I talk with) like the sound of the unsilenced filters.
By going cone AND sheilding the crap out of it, they get the sounds they like. I don't think I've heard any of them say they thought they gained anything other than the sound.

because they wanted to see for themselves
And they all got kinda bored.... so they tried to see if they could do what others have not. As Yippers said they like the sound, but dont really think they got any benefit. Data logs showed no change either.

But most of those also take their head light out for racing.
Did anyone do any tests to see what that does vs a stock air box? With a larger turbo on the car any time you get a better flow of air you will see a gain. This is the same reason you put a 2.5" exhaust on instead of a 2".
