Default K03 vs T25

I'm looking at an exhaust manifold from ATP, and have access to a few free T25s.

Would it be worth my time to swap in the T25? Is there enough flow difference to make it worth the effort?

I've not seen a compressor map, or any flow data on the K03 - anyone got a link?

Thank.

Exhaust manifold

Default you can't just swap a turbo without taking care of the air/fuel and spark to accomodate the

increased lag then eventually increased CFM's and heat a swap will produce if that's what you are thinking.

Yes - I understand turbo motors & tuning them. I'm just wondering about the difference in flow, and would it be worth the time to swap in a T25 (if the goal in a couple yrs is a t3/t4).

I'm going thru performance withdrawl here, and have access to couple of freebie T25s. If the T25 outflows the K03 nicely, then I'd jump on it.

Thanks for the input.

Default First off the T25 is just about the same size as a K04.

You want a GT25 or T28.

Default Any chance I can get a hand on one of your freebies for a small price ;)

Also, as Mike posted above, if you can get your hands on one, get a T28 (ball bearing better) or hack your freebie T25's to change a larger compressor (ala T28) - you'll have to get it rebalanced though.

Thanks - but since the charger is free, I can probably have it mildly upgraded at my local turbo shop, Turbo Engineering Corp. And the K04 would probably be a nice upgrade from this generic K03, no? I'm not up on the KKK turbos yet.

Got specs, by chance, on the GT25? Compressor map would be most excellent, but lacking that, flow numbers at some pressure level?

Default Well I have a T25 on my stock 2 liter eclipse

and I also have a K04 on my 2 liter Audi A4. The Audi is much faster and they both run the same boost level (18psi).

Default Yes, all of the 2nd gen's came with a Garrett T25 while the 1st gen

came with a mitsu turbo.

I have the first year of the 2nd gen which was built in Aug/94, bought in Oct/94 sold as a 95.
