K04 REVIEW
Well, I had a K04 installed in my car on wednesday. I have a '97 A4 with a K&N drop in, forge valve and a borla exhaust.
I went with the GIAC programming and a 5 bar FPR.
The power is awesome!! It really smooths out the power band over a chipped K03. There's no increase in turbo lag and there's more power everywhere. However, where the K03 dies at 5200 rpm, the K04 keeps pulling strong to 7000 rpm.
Gas mileage seems to be relatively unaffected as long as you stay away from the "go" pedal. Bolts right on and is indistinguishable from stock.
Sure, the APR kit is much faster, but it also costs way more. The power level I have now is more than adequate for ripping around the street and occasional track usage.
No hiccups, smooth idle, smooth pulling power when you dip into it, overall a very nice package.
