Default MIL with an APR EMCS on a 1998.5 (non-DBW)

I recently had the APR EMCS installed along with the hard-wired button on my non-DBW 1998.5 A4 1.8T.

It now continuously throws a DTC, "Short circuit to B+" and lights up the MIL. This happens regardless which program is selected. In "chipped" mode the boost is fine, although it seems that the idle is low, ~740-750 rpm. I've even stalled on the freeway after quickly slowing for traffic. My single-program APR chip never exhibited these problems.

Any clues or similar experiences? APR hasn't been able to pinpoint the cause of the problem yet, and I'd feel more comfortable if that MIL wasn't always staring me in the face...

Thanks, Jim
