Default Mobile 15w 50

I am currently running Mobile 1 0W-30 in my 2001 A4. I want to continue to make sure that its getting the best oil money can buy. Does anyone know about this new oil, or have any suggestions for higher quality oils?

It isn't the best oil you can buy, but it is more than good enough for your street machine.

Don't follow the hype however, continue to maintain a proper service interval for your oil changes.

Default Amsoil Series 2000 = the best, but you just need to run a full synthetic and change it

regularly.

15W-50 is similar to the weight I run in warm So. Cal. during Spring, Summer, and Fall. I would not run this weight if you have a new engine with less than 50,000 miles or if you live in a place with cool or cold temperatures.

0W-30 (very thin engine oil) for cold temps and new engines. Do not use during blazing hot summers.

10W-40 (medium weight engine oil) for mildly cold winters (rarely below freezing) and mildly hot summers (less than 100F/40C).

15W-50 or 20W-50 (thick engine oil) for maximum protection in climates with lows at least above 40F/5C and hot summer temperatures greater than 100F/40C.
