Default Modding the TT?

What are the best mods to do to your TT if you just want more speed. When I say speed, I mean off the line speed, as well as passing speed. And I'm not interested in rebuilding engines or valves or anything like that. Just simple bolt on mods would do me just fine. Chips? Also, with these mods, what kind of 0-60 and 1/4 mile times would I be looking at?

Pricing info would also be helpful. I'm thinking of getting a TT but I would like it to be a bit quicker. I currently have a Mustang Cobra, so I'm not wanting to lose a lot of power by going to the TT. I love my Mustang, but I'm ready to move to a more refined car that can stick to the road.

Any help would be appreciated!

Default Which version of the TT are you looking at?

the 180hp or 225hp version?

With either version, a chip is worth about 30hp more, and an exhaust might add another 5-10hp.

Definitely the 225 hp version. And probably the coupe. It just looks meaner than the roadster.

30 hp for a chip?? Wow. What kind of times would that give you in the 1/4 mile and 0-60? Any guesses?

I'm also not entirely sold on the TT (room, audio problems). So I'm still considering the S4. But I don't know.

Default You're looking at

...roughly 6 flat in the 0-60, high fives with a good launch. I'd guess mid-low 14s quarter mile times with around mid 90s trap speeds (say 96 or so). It's a quick little car with just a chip, add an exhaust and that'll net you another 10hp or so. About as fast as a stock S4 would be my guess...

Now, you could just chip the S4 and be at 310hp..hehe..that's a whole new ballgame.

Default you'll lose a ton of speed compared to the Cobra

That's all there is to it. Even 6 flat seems optimistic.

You'd need to go to a V6 and turbos to get things really going. Either that or lose a lot of driveability.

Default low 5's is not unreasonable

people report 5.3-5.4 w/chip, exhaust and FMIC

Default If you got 25k...HPA has a nice conversion for ya

twin turbo VR-6 motor transplant, 587hp in the TT application. Check out this month's Road & Track for a nice write up of the kit in a Golf (but kit designed for the TT)

Default Get a chip. You'll have a sub 6-second car 0-60 if you push it really hard. You'll have a better mid

range as well.

Default About 5.7 sec 0-60 (measured). Could most likely do silghtly better under nicer conditions.
