Default Need help on S4 exhaust system with catback......

someone previously posted that he had installed the S4 exhaust system with catback on his 2.8 30valves. I was wondering what kind of power increase i would get out of it? what do you think about it ? how much can it cost ? and parts number if possible.

any help would be appreciated
thanks

Default Loud

Are you talking about a stock S4 exhaust or aftermarket? Cuz the stock one probably isn't too bad of a noise increase. If you put an aftermarket S4 exhaust on a 2.8, you'll probably go deaf. The turbos on the S4 decrease the noise by a lot, that's why S4 exhausts can be damn near straight pipes, and it still won't rival (in volume) any naturally aspirated car with a free flowing exhaust.

Call Todd@Vortrag. They put on a UUC S4 exhaust on their 2.8.

Default If stock exhaust is nearly straight pipe, then...

why are many people on this board talking about replacing their stock exhausts with cat back systems?

Default call dynospot racing...they have a ton of used S4 Exhausts.

Default Stock S4 exhaust is not even close to a straight pipe...

Warren was saying that you could put a straight pipe on the car (catback), and it would still be quieter than most aftermarket S4 catback exhaust systems on a N/A 2.8 V6.

The stock S4 exhaust has two large mufflers, very similar to the stock one on a 2.8 30V.
