uniit it the place the two pieces (Cat & downpipe). Will there be any benefit to removing the cat.
The car currently has a APR 1.0 bar chip, scorpion exhaust and stock air box mod. What size should the new downpipe be, 2.5 inch?

We offer a highflow can and down pipe.
A word of caution. Running without a Cat on a US spec car will throw codes as the second O2 will read behond its threashold. You will not be able to run a standard after market Cat in place of the factory unit. I tested 4 diff brands and types of cats with horrible results. The unit we offer works perfect and does not throw any codes even on a stock car. The drawback? The cat is VERY expensive. But we wanted a unit that would work without any cheating. Certain tuners just modify the chips code to ignore the second o2 or they raise the threashold. You can run any chip with ours and still pass emissions.

I'm thinking about doing the same. Where did you get the Scorpion?
My brother had a custom exhaust put together by a local shop here in Toronto for his Laser.
I just need to find a good muffler and I have heard good things about the Scorpion. Where did you buy it? How much was it? What do you think of it so far?

What about a "bullet" cat
I also have the Scorpion exhaust (from TAP) and I can think of 2 options:
1. Random Technology offers a high-flow bullet catalytic converter that is 4" round and 8.5" long. I'm not sure what kind of inlet/outlet sizes they have, or how much it costs. This could be put in the same place as the original.
2. Remove the stock cat, and make a new downpipe without one, then try to fit a high-flow cat somewhere else in exhaust system. You would have to mount the O2 sensor after it also.
As far as size goes, the bigger the better. Minimum 2.5", ideal would be 3"

The Random cats through DTC's..
You would have to program around the problem if you use one. We wanted to sell a unit that will retain OBD emmisions.
