Nitrous' intercooling effect.

Nitrous' intercooling effect.
maybe its just me but why in this post below did sink say its more prone to detonate? other than missed matched fuel/NO2. Nitrous is oftenly used as an intercooler for the roots type blowers (IE PES for 2.8) it does after all come out of the tank at like i think -2xx degrees(ill look into that one). I see no harm in running a smaller like 25-50 "wet" shot on a window switch to intercool and for a lil more fun too.

https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/34360.phtml</a

Re: Nitrous' intercooling effect.
I think nitrous has a much worse rap than it deserves. If used "properly" it can be a safe and inexpensive way to increase your horsepower. Key words being "properly." Nitrous will give you a little cooling effect until it is burned. If it burns with the correct mixtures it should be okay, but if you run lean you will soon have a problem on your hands. Your motor will heat up very fast and you can kiss it bye-bye. If you run rich, like many drag cars running nitrous, you will be safer, but your cat is gonna eat it after a while.
Adrenalin is coming out(may be out actually, haven't checked) with a 75-shot combined with a 1-bar chip. It is a wet kit and they had to totally map out the fuel because of the way our ECU's boost. So it is specific to the 1.8T. Just some FYI if your seriously thinking of going with nitrous.
Good luck.

Well I hope they are doing something to change the adv timing when you hit the nos.
With nos you need to retard the timing a ton, this will make your car a dog off the line like a honda when your not using the nos.

I was checking out a NX vendor site and I don't think you have to retard the timing if your running a small shot. They said that with the NX kits you shouldn't retard the timing because that causes the motor to run hotter. Which is not a good thing when combined with nitrous.
