I got a chip last wednesday, put the best gas in, the damn thing still pings BAD in 3rd when I romp on it!!! I thought it was the bearings thats how loud it was!!!! Someone please help me! I have only 6000 miles on it since February and I dont wanna blow up my fu*king motor!!!! Cmon people I need some serious assistance here!!! I already searched the archives! Will someone with some personal experience help me PLEASE!!!! Arrrrgh! I dont know what the hell to do!

IDEALLY YOU SHOULD GET YOUR CHIP REPROGRAMMED. I HAVE A WETT CHIP WHICH STARTED PINGING IN HOT WEATHER. GOT THE PLUGS IN (A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN STOCK PLUGS F7'S) AND VOILA - NO MORE PINGING, EVEN IN WOT AT ANY GEAR!!

Some friendly advice, just post to one list and repost if you don't get any responses. Keeps the threads clear, too.

For example, the chip needs to be remapped for your gas. This is very common and any chipper will do it for you. Do not change your plugs.

I've posted on the plug issue for years, so there are lots of detailed archives. It's like cutting off your hand for a hangnail, a lame crutch at best.

AMS is best qualified to fix the pinging. Contact them before your engine blows up.

AMS corrected my problem fast they rechipped the car 3 times and finally got it right.
