Overboost or no?

Default Overboost or no?

Ok, i have a 04 tt 225 quattro, thought for a while that I had a bad n75, installed a boost gauge, and I'm pretty consistantly hitting 20lbs of boost in 2nd and 3rd gear, and I thought the stock boost pressure was supposed to be 14lbs peak. Could this extra boost pressure come from my aftermarket intake and exhaust? And also, my car feels slower than it should and at 20lbs of boost, isn't that close to some of the stg 1 tunes? I'm basically very confused, lol
Any help?

I think the OEM tune is 1 bar (14.5psi). Seeing some 20psi spikes might not be abnormal vs being able to hold 20psi in a 4th gear pull.
Boost is just a measure of air pressure, you need proper amount of fuel and advanced timing to max power. So boost by itself does not mean you will make big power. All the other parts of the system must be working optimally.

In this situation you would want to .......
1. Log - fuel, boost and, timing
2. Insure your fuel filter has been properly serviced
3. Insure your air filter has been properly serviced
4. Pull the plugs and at least insure the gap is proper .032"

When you log boost you will find out if you maybe have a mild tune installed.
Logging is done by running the car in 4th gear from 2500 rpm to redline.

Once all of this has been done, you are likely to discover most of the issues or at least have an idea where the issue are.

Thanks. I just bought a new fuel filter, and I ran liqui moly jectron thru the gas tank a week ago, im going to put the fuel filter in soon, and this weekend I'm gonna pull the plugs and check the gap, and replace them if needed. I have a pretty freshly cleaned k&n so the air fillter is not the problem. Getting a fresh liqui moly oil change soon as well. Any other things that I should service that could help restore any possible loss in power?

So it turned out to be a faulty boost gauge, put a new one in and I'm hitting the normal stock boost levels
