Default It is possible but it is not a direct bolt on

you need more then just the tranny and have to custom make a tranny mount for one side. The 2.8 tranny is more of a bolt on the the S4 tranny.

Default Any idea how much more would it cost more to swap an S4 tranny into a Tip A4 instead of a 5-spd A4?

I know it's a lot more trouble than it's worth, but I'm preparing my wallet for the day my tip tranny grenades. =)

Default It would probably be about the same amount....

you'd have to add maybe $300-$400 for the pedal assembly and clutch hyrdraulic system.

Hm... hehe... COOL. I guess that would be an option when my Tip decides I've abused it enough.

Can the "automatic" cranks accept the pilot bearing?

Default No, the 2.8 tranny is a direct bolt up for a 1.8t not a S4.

The hubs and shafts are different on the 2.8/1.8 then the 2.7 S4.
